History of Christianity began in Koothattukulam during 10th century. Koothattukulam is a developing town lying at South-East of Ernakulum Dist, bordering Idukki and Kottayam Districts of Kerala state. Very old Holy Family Church became Syro-Malabar Church in 1994 and on 20th October 2000 St.Jude Shrine was blessed and St. Jude Novena started here and within few years period its popularity has spread worldwide as God's grace abundantly showered here and people witnessed many miracles and healings.
Many whose dreams have shattered and lost hope in their life, flocks to this shrine seeking the intervention of St. Jude the Apostle, worker of miracles and difficult cases, as they believe that after lighting the world's tallest/biggest oil Lamp, once they pray, their prayers are answered and they all return with heavenly peace, ray of hope and happiness in their life. Also a rarest opportunity is that everyone can see and feel a divine touch as this shrine is blessed with St. Jude 'Relic' received from Vatican-Rome and kept in a monstrance.
